What is Polesaver-PF made from?
Polesaver-PF is a dual-layer non-toxic barrier wrap that consists of an outer thermoplastic sleeve coated with an inner, bituminous meltable layer. A high-performance adhesive strip on one edge allows the product to adhere to itself after wrapping and before the heat-shrinking process.
Inner Bitumen Sealant
The inner, meltable bituminous sealant is a complex blend of bitumen (asphalt) and several other additives. These are engineered to provide a durable, long-lasting, air and water-tight seal to the pole surface. On heating, the product compounds melt and penetrate the pole surface, effectively bonding the outer thermoplastic layer to the wood, preventing decay.
Outer Thermoplastic Sleeve
The outer, thermoplastic sleeve is specifically designed for use in ground contact. It is tough and durable and has proven successful, even in harsh environments.
